About Humane Innovations
Our story started in Kuwait in 2004, when John Peaveler accidentally found himself fostering 18 dogs (oops). What began as trying to help a few animals quickly turned into something much bigger. John went on to co-found and operate Kuwait's first animal shelter and field services organization.
Eleven years of running a shelter in Kuwait was hands-on, figure-it-out-as-you-go work. It shaped the way John still approaches animal welfare today. The right tools matter. Good training matters. Understanding the people, animals, and community in front of you matters. And sometimes, when the solution you need doesn't exist, you have to build it yourself.
Those lessons became the foundation for Humane Innovations.
Since 2004, we’ve worked alongside animal services professionals, shelters, rescues, veterinary teams, nonprofits, governments, and communities in 40+ countries around the world.
Today, we provide field-tested equipment, practical training, and consulting built around the realities of the work — by people who understand it firsthand.
