Y Poles

The Y Pole is a tool designed to allow handlers to safely interact with an animal and use a dog's natural behaviors to their advantage. The dog gets a choice: move in another direction or allow gentle control. It’s not a pinning tool. It gives handlers a more humane alternative when a limited amount of control or restraint is enough.

The padded Y-shaped head distributes pressure across the body, creating safe, temporary control while allowing the handler to slip on a lead, give a vaccine, examine the animal, etc.

We find it especially useful when working with fearful, defensive, or hard-to-reach animals. It’s also the single best tool for defensive handling, and for the initial response to many fight situations.
